VILLAGE OF BAILEY’S PRAIRIE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Date: August 26, 2017 (2:00 PM)

Voluntary Evacuation for residents of Bailey’s Prairie

The National Weather Service is predicting major river flooding along the Brazos River in Brazoria County.   All residents affected by the Brazos River flood in 2016 need to be on high alert and prepared to evacuate on short notice.

A Voluntary Evacuation is being issued for the Village of Bailey’s Prairie

National Weather Service is expecting localized heavy rainfall in our area, and also in both river basins to the north. If the region receives the predicted rainfall a Mandatory Evacuation will be issued for residents living in these areas.

This is a volatile weather event and residents need to stay informed and ready to evacuate. Residents living in the voluntary evacuation areas with no place to stay can self-evacuate to Bell County. Residents will need to register at Bell County Expo Center, 301 West Loop 121, Belton, TX 76513. There will be signs directing residents to the Expo Center.
